About

A great French poet named Charles Baudelaire wrote, “It is essential to be drunk at all times; [...] to not be the martyred slaves of Time.”  We follow his command.  As per his advice, we are unapologetic alcoholics (and pity any young adult who isn’t).  Maybe not in the textbook sense of alcoholism – that is to say, we don’t drink alone, and we don’t long for booze every waking moment of our lives.  We simply crave the social debauchery that comes with being inebriated, and prefer to surround ourselves with like-minded people.  This blog is for them.  For us.  These are our stories.

Though Richmond has a shockingly prodigious bar scene for a city so small, immoderation is pretty homogenous no matter where you are.  Additionally, there’s already a plethora of online sources for alternative journalism in Richmond.  So to merely refer to this as a “Richmond drunk blog” would imply that there is a sort of banality to our lives.  This is certainly not the case.  This is a social media experiment.  An exercise in public observation.  A celebration of our love for the city we call home.
